Have you ever wanted to get involved in cat rescue and didn’t know how, because you can't foster a cat? You're in the right place. We are looking for help across the board - both in person (Brooklyn) and remotely!
transport: with your own car, in an uber, even on a subway - help us get the cats from point A to point B. drop off to foster, take them to the vet, etc. we spend HOURS of our days driving or in taxis. this is one of our most urgent needs!
temporary hold: before we can place a cat in a foster home, sometimes they need to wait somewhere. in a crate, in a playpen, in a bathroom - anywhere is better than outside for a dumped pet!
trapping help: help our main trapper tackle the huge projects we work on. even if it's to show up for 20min and help load/unload the car or set up the equipment. or to join her and monitor more than one location when trapping at large colony. yes, we only have one person doing 99% of OHC trapping. yes, we still go through a million cats a month. yes, she's magical and we don't deserve her (but she deserves help!)
equipment cleaning help: all traps, crates, transfer cages, carriers have to be thoroughly cleaned after each cat, and after a week of trapping, that's a lot of cleaning. this is the most glamorous part of the job - cleaning up the poop! - but it needs to be done. we're selling it, aren't we? :)
case management: each adoptable cat needs someone responsible for them. review adoption & foster applications, insure the best match, share new cat photos with our social media coordinator!
fundraising: help us find fundraising opportunities!
phone & video calls: call references, call vets to schedule, interview candidates
data entry & intake management: each cat, vet visit & medication has to be recorded. help us keep track of that!
content creation: want to write posts about our amazing adoptable cats? or how to make outdoor shelters? or just day to day notes on tnr & rescue? help our amazing social media coordinator!
processes: is your day job in software engineering, project management, or anything else that would allow you to help us automate and / or scale our processes, vet appt tracking, documentation, adoption agreement prep? we can definitely use you!
accounting: if that's you, you know the drill. where there's money, there's a need for accounting.
